We are so proud of our partners from NBC Universal, who have reached out to us in a spirit of holiday kindness, offering to donate Christmas gifts to children who are risking not to receive any this year.
This endeavour, which is a part of NBC Universal’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community, has brought joy to children from our dear neighbouring primary school, which we know very well though multiple shared programmes, such as sports and Out of School Club.
Together with the school we ensured the presents reach those who may not otherwise get any.
NBC Universal employees were able to donate a wide variety of gifts – wrapped and delivered last Friday, bringing smiles to the faces of children who were thrilled to receive something special.
“For so many, what should be a time of coming together to celebrate with friends and family, is instead a time of unimaginable financial pressure and the current cost of living crisis is plunging thousands more families into poverty”, said Stuart Woods, CEO of Coram’s Fields and the coordinator of the gift drive, “The presents were bought, wrapped and delivered by our friends and corporate partner, NBC Universal, and were gifted to 30 children across the school, many of whom have only recently arrived in the UK after fleeing conflict abroad. This thoughtful gesture will hopefully go some way to relieving the pressures these families are facing this Xmas.”
This initiative is just one of many that NBC Universal has undertaken to support its local children and young people under Coram’s Fields Connecting Futures programme. The company takes part in our youth employability scheme, helps with volunteering in the park and assists with our communications strategy, all to provide unique opportunities and the best start in life.
