Corporate Volunteering

Coram’s Fields has been at the heart of the local community for 80 years, providing a vital resource to children, young people and families, in an area suffering from high levels of deprivation. Many businesses form part of the fabric of our community and are looking for ways to give back to the areas in which they operate.

Across our seven-acre site, we provide a wealth of facilities and resources for the benefit of young people, including an adventure playground, youth centre, nursery, wildlife garden, sports facilities, city farm, under 5s drop-in and out of school club. With so much going on, it’s no surprise that volunteers play a huge role in helping us to be the most child-friendly space in London.

Whether your day with us forms part of a longer corporate partnership, or as a one-off event, both the business and Coram’s Fields definitely benefit.

Why volunteer with us?

Taking part in our Corporate Volunteering programme can provide your company and employees with a range of benefits, which include:

  • Boosting staff morale, increasing job satisfaction and promoting a positive corporate culture
  • Increasing organisational, leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strengthening corporate ties to the local community and breaking down social barriers
  • Heightening visibility through awareness-raising and media coverage

How does Coram’s Fields benefit?

  • Receive practical help on site from motivated volunteers
  • Raise awareness of our role in the local community
  • Charge for corporate volunteering days cover staff time and material costs

What activities can you get involved in?

There are a wealth of tasks that your group can get involved in while volunteering at Coram’s Fields. Tasks will vary according to seasons and priority. The following activities are examples of tasks that corporate volunteers could do with us:

  • Painting internal and/or external walls
  • Leaf picking
  • Varnishing park benches and picnic tables
  • Mucking out our chicken coop
  • General gardening tasks
  • Levelling and topping up play bark and sand
  • Wildlife garden maintenance

Charges

Volunteering days incur running costs, which include staff time, as well as materials and consumables. As well as being excellent value for money, to help meet your company’s social objectives, the charges paid ensure that your volunteering day’s impact carries on beyond the day itself. This means that it is local children and young people who most benefit from your support.

We advise that a first step in arranging a volunteering day is to discuss your requirements, number of volunteers and dates, as well as which activities we can arrange for you.

A corporate volunteering day can be either:
